Meet Dr. Waltrous

JUSTIN WALTROUS MD

OWNER/MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Justin Waltrous is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He then completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Rutgers/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, which is consistently ranked as #1 in the East and #2 the nation by US News and World Report for best rehabilitation hospitals. Upon completion of residency, he completed a year long Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine fellowship at Orthopaedic Spine and Specialists in York, Pennsylvania under the direction of Dr. Michael Furman, an internationally renowned leader in non-operative spine care. As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland – College Park, Dr. Waltrous was a Banneker-Key scholar and earned two Bachelor of Science degrees. Throughout his training, Dr. Waltrous was involved in teaching, research, and advocacy at the national level. He won multiple teaching awards during his residency training related to teaching and facilitating the education of medical students and his fellow residents. Dr. Waltrous created his own novel research study evaluating the effectiveness of foam rolling on hamstrings muscle flexibility. He also served as the Vice President of the Resident Physician Council for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Waltrous is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Sports Medicine. He has extensive experience in Musculoskeletal Medicine, interventional spine procedures, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided interventions, and also practices the full scope of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound, disabled athletes, and injury prevention for athletes.
